The 2024 U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds train together at NAF El Centro. This is the fifth annual joint training session for the two teams that began in 2020. It caps off their months of winter training ahead of the Air Show Season.

This footage was filmed on Saturday, February 24th, 2024. Both teams each did 2 practices over the field. The vantage point is to the right end of the runway, so maneuvers look a little different than a regular airshow, affording unique perspectives (especially on take offs!) This video cuts together the best maneuvers from each of the teams performances interleaved for a direct comparison. I know the Blue Angels show better, so their maneuver order is intact, and the Thunderbirds demo has been rearranged a little bit to put similar maneuvers to the Blues back to back.

Of note - the Thunderbirds only flew a 5 ship demo this day, so the solo and delta maneuvers leave a lot to be desired when juxtaposed agains the full 6 ship demo done by the Blues.
