DISCUS can be used independently as a single source for communication via the cellular network and can also take advantage of legal peer-to-peer encrypted voice communications using smart phone applications such as Signal or other applications. DISCUS will allow for the headset to be used simply as "ear buds" with your cellphone for making calls, listening to music, podcasts, and movies. When serving in an audio pass through role the headset does not need to be powered on.
