Many people believe that Frank Herbert’s novel Dune is impossible to adapt to the big screen, as there is so much going on in the sprawling novel that it can’t be covered in one film. David Lynch tried his hand at an adaptation of Dune in 1984, which didn’t go over too well with critics and fans, although some have come to appreciate it over time. Star Kyle MacLachlan, who has worked with Lynch on many projects, has weighed in about his thoughts on the film today, as well as the upcoming 2020 remake.
