The Lascaux cave art is some of the earliest evidence of Upper Paleolithic human art in history. These people were hunter-gatherers who specialized in hunting rain deer. 36,000 years ago, vast herds of rain deer grazed on gently rolling hills in Northern France; along with Mammoth and Woolly Rhinos. By this time, Neanderthals would have been extinct for thousands of years.
