The Chicago Council on Global Affairs honored UL Solutions President and CEO Jennifer Scanlon at the 2023 Global Leadership Awards Dinner for her extraordinary leadership and commitment to creating a more open and promising world for all.

In acceptance remarks, Scanlon described the once-in-a-generation transformational moment the Council is facing driven by technology and social changes and explained how it is rising to the challenge and remaining relevant.

“The Council must serve as a beacon for establishing the right way to combat the dangers presented by uninformed bullies or even worse, a disinterested populace,” she said. “We are all at our best when we have the opportunity to ask tough questions, to facilitate effective dialogue, and to develop solutions together.”

As UL Solutions President and CEO, Council board vice chair Jennifer Scanlon leads the company in pursuit of its mission of working for a safer world and is a fierce advocate for STEM education and increasing diversity in science, technology, engineering, and math.
