The Surprising Truth About Money: 6 Freedoms You Never Knew Existed
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
Dear friends, of course, having money doesn't guarantee freedom. Moreover, there are ethical aspects to consider; just because you have money doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. However, money is certainly not insignificant. Don't be fooled by those who say money isn't important...

Now, let's take a look at the situation as your family's perception management expert. But first, let's clarify the matter: the greatest freedom that money brings to a person is usually the ability to 'make choices.' Here are the psychological explanations on this matter.

Independence: Money allows individuals to be independent in many aspects. This leads to a greater sense of security and, consequently, psychological freedom. A person who feels secure makes more liberating decisions. If you receive money from your family, it's not easy to go against their opinions because there's the risk of losing financial support.

Reduced Stress: Economic freedom, especially, reduces many stress factors one may encounter. People's levels of stress and anxiety can vary depending on their financial situation. Our brains can work as a disaster-producing mechanism. As problems pile up, it tries to come up with solutions. If these solutions aren't sufficient, stress sets in. However, if you believe that 'I can solve any problem with my money,' your stress levels will be lower. The saying 'money brings peace' isn't just an empty word.

Self-Actualization: As seen in Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, when basic needs are met, individuals can focus more on self-actualization and personal development. For example, a person who is struggling to put food on the table and worrying about the next meal can't engage in philosophy. You can't expect someone without transportation money to be interested in art. In short, money is important for a comfortable life and humane development.

Social Capital: Money enables the freedom to establish and maintain social relationships. For example, participating in various social activities, traveling, and more. Sometimes, human relationships can be more valuable than money. Knowing the right person at the right time and place can bring you significant benefits. Therefore, someone who has money not only adds to their wealth but also to their social influence. The saying 'money attracts money' stems from here.

Autonomy: Economic security gives individuals more control over their own lives. This creates a high sense of autonomy psychologically. For instance, someone with money can hop on a plane for a beautiful vacation in Italy whenever they feel like it. Therefore, they feel free knowing they can escape whenever they want during tough times. But those without money always feel dependent, which becomes a separate source of unhappiness.

Risk-Taking Ability: Economic freedom increases the capacity to take risks for new opportunities and experiences. This positively affects an individual's quality of life and psychological well-being. People who can take risks not only make more moves but also become mentally more resilient as they experience new things. On the other hand, those who can't take risks eventually start living a turtle-like life trapped in their shell, and they wither away inside that shell.

Now, of course, saying 'I don't have money, I'm doomed' is not the solution. To be happy, you need to adopt certain types of habits. These habits can bring both happiness and money.
