Earlier today, Simone Biles made a historic decision to not participate in the women’s gymnastics Olympic team finals for her emotional and mental health. Athlete mental health is a cause very near to Dona Rodgers’ heart: In July 2019 her daughter Morgan died by suicide following a catastrophic injury that benched her from the Duke University lacrosse team. Along with some of Morgan’s teammates, Dona founded Morgan's Message to end the stigma surrounding student-athlete mental health. Adriana Fazio from Katie Couric Media spoke to Dona about their mission to ensure every athlete truly has the resources they need to succeed—both mentally and physically.
