What does a bean mean?

Appendix:

See, I forgot that "Cleave" is a contranym, meaning it has two opposing meaning within English. And, to stay on brand for this episode, that is stupid. But the unexpected and late epiphany does make me want to rewrite this, but instead, I'll add an appendix here if anyone wants to read it.

"Cleave" in English means to both cut something off, AND it means to bind something together. As far as I'm aware, we rarely use the latter meaning in modern usage, but it is quite often used in regard to marriage.

Perhaps it's my protestant roots showing through, but the phrase, "Cleave and Leave" was tossed around at weddings as an idiom to suggest that the Bride and Groom are "cleaving" together (joining as one) and leaving their immediate families to start a new family.

Meaning, that this Dwight/Nellie story might actually have a clever use for the cleaver, insomuch as it is heightening the dramatic tension (in flamboyant analogy) as we watch to see if JAM will cleave together or cleave apart.

Perhaps then, the resolution of the episode for Dwight/Nellie suggests also that learning from other more horrendous (or good) examples can serve us well.

- Roy and his special lady friend are doing well, living their dreams, and seemingly supporting one another -- Cleaved together
- Erin and Andy are initially resolute to make Erin's dreams come true (cleaved together), but Andy's self-focus ends up cleaving he and Erin apart.
- Jim wants to tell his wife whom he's extremely cleaved together with, but fears she'll shut it down.
- Pam's fear is that even with how well the two are cleaved together, that risking anything isn't worth it.
- Thus, JAM is cleaving apart, and the separation started in the last episode but is tearing here.
