We sent a BORESCOPE CAMERA inside a BMW engine to see what 'Walnut Blasting' looks like from the INSIDE.
This video shows the Walnut Blasting process by @RedishMotorsportbmw on the BMW N54 engine.

We used a 41,000 mile BMW E89 Z4 35is with the N54T engine to demonstrate our version of the well needed 'Walnut Blasting'.

Walnut blasting is required on engines that use 'direct injection'.
This is because these engine's fuel is sprayed directly into the combustion cylinder and therefore doesn't wash the carbon off the intake valves.
(Compared to an older/traditional engine where fuel is sprayed from the inlet manifold and washes away carbon build-up).

BMW sells a Special Tool kit which consists of a Walnut Blasting machine with a hopper, pipes, and trigger gun.
Then offer separately all the individual Injection Nozzles (for firing crushed Walnut Shells) and individual Vacuum Adapters (for fitting into the Cylinder Head to extract the Walnut Shells).

For this operation, we needed to use the N54 Injection Nozzle and N54 Vacuum Adapter.
However, as the video shows, we have the full range of Injection Nozzles & Vacuum Adapters from BMW and therefore we can offer this Walnut Blasting Process for the following BMW Engines:

Petrol:
N53
N54
N55
S55

S58

Diesel:
