Elon Musk claimed that he would be very surprised if Tesla does not achieve level five autonomous driving this year. Many of his past claims about the state of Tesla's Full Self Driving (FSD) software have been overly ambitious. It is my aim to examine the current state of FSD (version 10.9) to see whether Tesla is on the right track and extrapolate whether level 4 autonomy is possible this year.
