Hi, in this careers in film video I will be looking at how to work on big-budget film sets.

Firstly make sure that you are based in a good location.

Next, understand who will be hiring you on a big-budget film. Likely it will be the producer, line producer or your Head Of Department (HOD).

You will be hired either because they have worked with you before and trust you, or they have been recommended to hire you. Film Producers may also use film crew agencies/databases

To meet these producers you need to work on many films, such as local low budgets and independents. This will also help build up your experience within your job role By working on independents you will meet many local filmmakers and they could recommend you to work on bigger budget films.

There is no way to make this process quick. However, it might only take a few years before you are working on big-budget films. The good news is once you are on them, there can be a snowball effect of big-budget work.

That is to say once you have worked on one, you will be trusted to work on more!
