These are the first three flights with the Skydio 2 the day after I got it. I flew once with it following me walking and also tried out some of its pre-programmed modes. Then I flew it with the controller trying to get steady and cinematic shots. The last flight was following me on a bicycle.


Impressions: I actually like the controller. The gimbal movement is smooth and you can even tilt up. It feels fine to me even though I am used to DJI controllers. The range, as has been reported everywhere, is terrible. I don't have a beacon because they are not currently available, but I really enjoyed flying it with the phone. Next time, I'll try to get flights from further away.

The video right out of the camera is amazing. Due to YouTube compression, you likely can't get an appreciation for how amazing it is. Much better than my Mavic or Phantom. It is amazing.


With only three flights, I am learning to trust it, but that is also a challenge - letting it go and do what it wants to do.


Lastly, the footage while following the bicycle was very nice. While walking, it was not smooth because it tends to speed up and slow down. It seems to work best when tracking subjects at 5mph or faster.
