Dragaica or Sânzienele is a celebration that takes place annually on 24 June, a day that coincides with the celebration of the birth of Saint John the Baptist and the Summer Solstice. June 24th is also known as Dracula and is a holiday dedicated to love. The unmarried girls dress up in white and go to collect yellow wild flowers called sânziene, which they combine in coronettes that will then be thrown over house or water. At night, on the night of 23-24 June appear in the moonlight, Sânzienele, fairies, rotating in the hill, in secluded places .... they have magical powers ....
