This process was a mental exercise for me trying to determine the component that failed on my Fiery Raster Image Processor. I do better with gears and switches than electronics. Connecting a computer screen was helpful to see what the Linux system was doing. I could then see that it would stop on booting the kernel. Tried another USB drive and I was back in business. A CD should be supplied with your RIP that has software on it, if not you can download from Fiery.
