Demonstration of the Forced Response of a simple harmonic oscillator (Helmholtz resonator = acoustic analog of a mass-spring system) showing how the frequency response changes when the amount of damping is increased. As the damping is increased, the frequency at which the pressure inside the cavity reaches a maximum value (resonance) decreases to a lower frequency and the overall pressure amplitude is greatly lowered.
