I replaced the broken camshaft and timing gear on my Craftsman LT2000 Briggs&Stratton lawn tractor (riding mower), after I hit a tree stump and broke them. After replacing those, the engine was surging (high/low throttle surges). I explain here what I did to fix that. It took a lot of troubleshooting and work, but she started right up after!
