The Financial Sector Conduct Authority says some South African consumers are increasingly turning to so-called sustainable financing products.
This as consumers seek financial products that align to their social and environmental values. Sustainable finance products include those that work to address the energy transition, climate change mitigation as well as funding for specific social causes. The FSCA explored this landscape in its recently published Sustainable Finance Consumer Risk Report and Roadmap 2024. This is a newly developing offering in the country, but one that's expected to grow as nations move to be more socially and environmentally conscious, for long-term human sustainability.
