Timelapse of our backyard/side yard transformation. Prior to the new shed/garage, there was an old dilapidated shed that was torn out (not shown) and some very weedy grass. Here are the steps with an approximate cost next to each:

1. Remove old grass (sod cutter rental) $90
2. Add timber edging/borders for gravel pad (timbers found for free)
3. Recycled plastic edging and weed cloth $100
4. 1/4 inch minus gravel w/ delivery $120
5. Compacter machine rental $80
6. Cardboard underlay for sheet mulching (cardboard collected for free- removed plastic tape)
7. Mulch added and spread to about 5-6" deep (ChipDrop.com $20)
8. Native plants collected with permit from National Forest land, planted
9. Fence (4 4"by4" posts $20/ea = $80, pickets $2/each x 33 = $64, concrete $20)
10. Hammock pergola $150
11. Fire pit from bricks on site
12. More plants/trees (will take a couple years for these to really pop)
Total Cost - $724
