The legendary Ruf CTR Yellowbird and Porsche 930 turbo go head to head with some of the most iconic vehicles from the 1980s and 1990s. Introduced in 1987, the CTR features a highly pumped version of Porsche’s 3.2 flat six, combined with a roll cage, upgraded suspensions and braking system, a fully customized 5 gears transmission and several unique parts and body pieces.
CTR which stands for Group C Turbo Run is based on a 1987 911 Carrera 3.2, with lower weight and drag coefficient, as opposed to the 930 which was Porsche’s factory turbocharged version of a 911. The introduction of many aluminum parts allowed Ruf to drop the weight of the CTR by another 422 lbs. Amongst the engine modifications, the displacement has increased from 3.2 to 3.4 liters and is paired with a fuel injection system borrowed by Porsche 962s. Twin turbo chargers and twin intercoolers bring the engine’s total output to 463 hp and 408 lb/ft of torque. Ruf officially produced only 29 units which were built on chassis bought directly from Porsche.
It goes from 0 to 60 in 3.6 seconds, its top speed is 210 mph - which makes it the fastest production car of its time.
