In this video we will learn how to use "Live adjust z" for fine tuning the gap between nozzle and plate for the first layer.

Key points -
1) First layer calibration and Live adjust Z are two different operations.
2) First layer calibration is used in a brand new printer which has not been calibrated at all to set the correct inital gap between nozzle and plate for the first layer to stick properly
3) But a lot of times we see that when we actually start printing tha gap set during the FLC needs some adjustment, either you need to increase the gap or decrease it, for good first layer adhesion.
4) This is where LAZ (live adjust Z) comes into play. Using this function the gap set during FLC can be altered or say fine tuned.
5) If we move the value in negative direction - gap will decrease
6) If we move the value towards zero or in positive direction - gap will increase
7) Always increase or decrease value in small number say 20-25.
8) Do not increase or decrease in 50 or 100
9) Always wait for few seconds to see the results after changing value.
10) Be careful when decreasing gap between nozzle and plate because overdoing it can cause nozzle to crash into the plate and damage it.
11) How often we need to do LAZ - once correct gap has been set using LAZ, there is not requirement of doing it again. In case you feel after some time it needs an adjustment, you can do it but only do it if you really think it is required.
12) Always clean print plate properly before changing FLC value. Because most of the time it is due to unclean plate the first layer doesn't stick properly and people end up unnecessarily changing the correct FLC value
13) LAZ value is different for every printer
14) LAZ value can be between any where ranging from -(minus) 0.450 to - (minus)1.10
15) If you can keep the printer at a high position so that the nozzle is at your eye level during printing, it will be very easy to see how the first layer is printing or how much gap one needs to set.
16) Slow down speed to 40% by using LCD knob while doing LAZ as it allows you to see properly how much gap is there between nozzle & plate and adjust it accordingly.
