For the latest Highlander, Toyota decided to ditch their 306 HP V6 hybrid system for a considerably more efficient system based around the 2.5L four-cylinder systm found in the RAV4 Hybrid and Camry Hybrid. The result is a small drop in performance and a big improvement in fuel economy. The 2020 Highlander Hybrid is still on the small side of the segment, but if you're looking to drop your fuel consumption through the floor while maintaining seating for 7 or 8, this is the best option at the moment outside of a full EV.
