Intensified fighting in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has resulted in massive displacement. People are now living rough, sheltering in schools, churches and stadiums, not knowing where their next meal will come from, in an area where malnutrition is already rampant.
Camps have sprung up around North Kivu, with some being established so quickly that vital facilities like latrines or water points were not established and disease outbreaks are common. Save the Children and partner organizations are working to build safe Latrines, water points, and Child Friendly Spaces (CFS) in the camps to benefit displaced children and families.
