Everything about the Kalinin K-7 is big. Big engines, big wings, big weight, big bombload, not to mention the colossal balls of the pilots that got behind the controls of this thing.

The K-7 was born in a time when aircraft manufacturers were trying to build a new generation of massive transports, able to carry over 100 passengers or troops across large distances. Konstantin Kalinin proposed his design, the K-7, and to gain Soviet government support he also designed it to operate as a bomber that could carry an impressive 19,000kg bombload.

Over the years a few myths have sprung up about this aircraft, like the fact that it was designed to carry battleship guns...but I discuss that in this video, so enjoy! :D
