They’re the sort of people who make the rest of us sick. They’ve had this one, simple idea and made billions from it. Jeff Bezos and Pierre Omidyar are the Internet’s first and biggest billionaires. Bezos’ idea was to sell books on the Net --- that became Amazon.com. Omidyar, created a little on-line flea market that is now E-bay, the hugely successful Internet auction site worth nearly 20 billion dollars for its American operations alone. Jeff Bezos’ Amazon has some 6 million regular customers. As Liz Hayes discovers these billionaires are not just revolutionising the way the world does business but changing the relationship business has with clients and staff.
