The new 4x4 – reminiscent of the original Land Rover Defender – will be constructed in France, engineered in Austria, and designed in the United Kingdom, and will be available to consumers by the end of next year. Online bookings will be available on September 30th, with sales beginning in July 2022.

BMW-sourced 3.0-liter petrol or diesel engines – both with automatic transmissions – will be offered, as will one Bodystyle, a rather restricted color palette, and "limited, but useful trim options." The Grenadier's attractiveness will be aided by a plethora of lifestyle accessories, many of which can be linked to the 'utility belt' around the car's flanks.

Customers should be able to buy fully online or in-person at 23 outlets around the UK, comprising six specialized 4by4 and a few agricultural businesses. In addition to stores, Ineos promises test drives to clients' demands, with extra service needs handled by selected Bosch Service Centres. Ineos guarantees that clients will never be more than 45 minutes or 45 miles away from a service center.

Modifiers and anybody else who wants to work on their own Grenadier will have direct access to Ineos HQ, which will provide interactive online tutorials and videos. Ineos will collaborate with its shops using an agency model rather than a fully integrated structure. That seems to be, rather than the store, the contract is between the customer and Ineos, with the dealership operating as a demonstration, delivery, and after-sales facility. The manufacturer will manage the part-exchange procedure rather than the dealer.

Toby Ecuyer, who began his career as an architect before moving on to construct superyachts, created the Grenadier. It has the same boxy dimensions as the previous Defender, as well as similarly angular doors and window glass. It also has the Land Rover's slatted radiator grille, flat bonnet, round headlights, and upright windshield – plus a large sump guard under the front bumper.

The appearance of the Grenadier incorporates parts of the Mercedes G-Class, which is not surprising given Ineos' connection with the Austrian engineering firm Magna Steyr. Since 2018, the company has handled the manufacture of the G-Wagen, and it will now assist Ineos in assembling the Grenadier.
