In this review, I discusses my experience driving the 2023 Lexus ES, a mid-size executive sedan that has been in production since 1989 and is currently in its 7th generation. The ES differs from the rest of the Lexus lineup as it is front-wheel drive and shares the same platform as the Toyota Avalon. The review focuses on the hybrid version, which is offered in various trims, including the base 300h.

The exterior features include a spindle grille with horizontal slats, updated V-shaped LED daytime running lights, 18" split 10 spoke alloy wheels, and power-folding side mirrors. The trunk has a power open/close function with a kick sensor, and the cargo space is 13.9 cubic feet. The hybrid engine is a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder with a total system horsepower of 215, paired with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. The interior has steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, and the tech features a 12.3-inch touchscreen. The drive mode select has three options: eco, normal, and sport, and the hybrid gets 43 city/44 hwy MPG, with a 0-60 acceleration of 8.1 seconds. The base MSRP is $43,790, while the full MSRP of our model is $49,580.
