Some say a superhero movie thrives or dies on its villain - that's mostly nonsense, but a great villain can elevate a mediocre superhero movie all on their own. No recent example embodies that better than the rebooted and redesigned Rita Repulsa in Saban's Power Rangers, played by Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games Saga, Pitch Perfect, 30 Rock). Though the 2017 box office disappointment spends most of its time with its five color-coded teenagers with attitude, the scenes it spares for Ms. Repulsa are something to behold - within this now-forgotten adaptation lies one of the greatest villains the superhero movie pantheon has ever witnessed. She's mean, she's green, and she's a scene-stealing machine - it's Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa!
