In Islam, Shaytan refers to Satan or the Devil. Shaytan is believed to be a disobedient jinn (a type of spiritual being) who refused to bow to Adam when Allah commanded angels and jinn to do so. Shaytan's ultimate goal is to lead humans astray from the path of righteousness and obedience to Allah. Muslims are advised to seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan's influence and to resist his temptations through faith, prayer, and good deeds.
