The Bronco's back, baby! But it's not the Bronco of generations past, this all-new off-roader is ready to take on the Jeep Wrangler and Land Rover Defender.

We're not quite finished with 2021 yet and Ford has already started to roll out their 2022s. This 2022 Ford Bronco 4-Door Wildtrak is the top-end of the new Bronco SUV family. Before we start with our review there are a couple small changes for 2022, specifically with paint options. Ford has removed some paint colours such as Antimatter Blue, but added a couple new ones. Additionally the upgraded metal front bumper we have optioned on our vehicle is now available across any Bronco trim, giving buyers more flexibility.

Our full tour and comprehensive review on this 2022 Ford Bronco WIldtrak 4x4 goes over the technical details of this mid-size SUV, including the 2.7L twin-turbo V6, the 10-speed automatic transmission, and the 4 wheel drive system found on the Bronco. Previous Bronco's were based on the Ford F-150 platform, but after the Bronco was killed off in the 1990s, the Expedition replaced it in terms of being an SUV based on the F-150's platform, although the Expedition is sold as a 5 door, 3 row SUV, and previous Broncos were sold as 3-Door SUVs. Our new Bronco is based on the Ranger platform, making it more a direct successor to Ford's epic Bronco II SUV.

We discuss the WIldtrak trim which comes with the Sasquatch package, along with all the features you get with this including the 35" Goodyear Territory tires, 11.5" ground clearance, 33.5" water fording capabilities, and the overall exterior changes with it. The obvious comparison for this SUV is also the Jeep Wrangler, a vehicle we've driven a number of times over the years, so we go over some of the differences average buyers would be interested to know if they were in the market for one of these off-road SUVs.

We then take the 2022 Ford Bronco 4 Door on a real-world on-road driving test to discuss our overall fuel economy, along with our driving impressions of this vehicle. We spent a lot of time with it, about 1,500kms total over the week we had it, so we had a pretty good idea of what live was like with this SUV. We can definitely see why this vehicle will be a popular seller, and hope to continue seeing them on the road.
