Whose side is God on? If you’re a Christian and feel like you’re in a losing battle with culture, this message from Pastor Chip Judd is a must-watch.

Notes:
What emotions set the tone around most discussions about issues right now?

Quick thoughts about anger:
• Anger is a secondary emotion. It’s never the first thing we feel.
• Its purpose is to protect and it operates from below conscious thought.
• It’s really fast, but not always accurate.
• Its trigger and power source is some need and the fear of it not being met.

Three suggestions that will help:

1 Chronicles 12:32

1. Your beliefs define you and blind you.

1 John 4:16

Most of the beliefs you live by and will defend you did not consciously choose. They came with your early life experiences through automatic learning. Then, we each live in a subconsciously selected “bubble of belief.”

Fact-check yourself! Be as hard on your “side” of an issue as you are the other.

Once our beliefs are established - we see what we’re looking for and hear what we listen for.

2. Don't lose sight of God's scoreboard (be careful how you define a win)

Is there a hierarchy of importance in God’s value system? Let’s ask Him:

“Jesus, what’s the greatest commandment?” Matt 22

Jesus, what’s the greatest, most critical change my relationship with you should bring about in my life? LOVE!!!

Every person you have an issue with is a person God loves and for whom Jesus died. (Rom 14:15)

Whose Side Is God On?

My simple rule: Can I picture Jesus saying or doing what I want to say or do the way I want to say or do it?

3. Whose side is God on? Have you ever asked that question in your marriage?
• There are 3 Points Of View on every issue. (person + person + God)
• Any movement toward God automatically moves us closer to each other. Joshua asked the same question and he received a very interesting answer!

Josh 5:13-15

When was the last time you humbled yourself before God with your face to the ground and surrendered to His sovereign right to manage everything you say or do?

Don’t pursue your cause and frustrate God’s!

Whose side is God on? Neither and both.

2 thoughts:
My goal is not to convert you to my position but to love and honor you while God converts you to his.

Our recommended posture of heart:
• God loves every person! (friend or foe)
• Every person needs Jesus! (friend or foe)
• The Holy Spirit guides every person into the Truth. (friend or foe) (He starts where THEY are NOT where YOU are.)
