So you're in the market for a truck but you don't want to spend a fortune on fuel bills. Is there a solution? Yes there is and both Ford and Ram think they have the answer. Hybrid vs Diesel. Which is better and which truck is better overall?

The 3.0L V6 diesel in the Ram 1500 2021 produces 260 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. The horsepower figure isn’t that high but on a diesel engine, it’s the torque that matters. In the Ford F150 Powerboost 2021, it uses a 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 with electrical assist. It is capable of producing 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque.

In the 2021 Ford F 150 hybrid, the Powerboost powertrain is available on all trim levels so long as it's in the crew cab configuration. It'll cost you from $5,750 CAD to $2,500 CAD depending on the trim level. In Canada, the 2021 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is only available on Rebel trims and up. In the United States, the EcoDiesel Ram 1500 engine is available on all trim levels. The engine is a $3,900 CAD option however.
