Pixies, fairies and angels are the theme this week!

A miniature pixie automaton from Laurence and Angela St. Leger (https://www.laurenceandangelastleger....) who have been making exquisite miniature automata for many years. Their web site is definitely worth a visit.

Next, a battery operated Christmas angel that Tim has had for many years. He thinks he got it in 1979. It plays carols and a little light flashes on and off, illuminating the face of the angel. Back in 1979 this was quite advanced technology. Tim explains it runs on a 9 volt battery - no LEDs or computer chips back then!

Two 'Parking Angels' - apparently you attach one to the dashboard of your car, and drive into town, hoping that - with the angel's influence - you will find a parking space. One as a wind up mechanism, and this causes the wings to flap. Maybe - if you can't find a space and have to leave your car for a few minutes somewhere you shouldn't - the angel will help you avoid a parking ticket!

Tim received a greeting card some years ago, which had two metal wings attached. The idea is that you can attach the wings to a candle, giving you an angelic candle!

And then... is that an angel designed by an artist's studio influenced by the cubist movement? There is a thread running through it, and as you move your hands together and then apart, you can make the square angel move up and down the thread, and the wings flap at the same time. A Japanese design.

Finally, a craft item called 'The Unwary Fairy'. The fairy was relaxing on a golf course, not paying enough attention, and was hit - and squashed - by a golf ball. On dear...
