Ruben Amorim identifies 3 transfer targets for Liverpool if he succeeds Jurgen Klopp as manager.
Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to end his time at Liverpool on a high over the coming months, but the club hierarchy will already be planning for life after the German ahead of his departure at the end of the season.

Michael Edwards is set to have major role at Anfield after his return to Anfield, while Richard Hughes will also come in after the current campaign as sporting director.

Appointing a new manager will be their primary concern over the next couple of months, although potential targets in the transfer market will also be considered. Of course, what players they buy will also depend on who is appointed as Klopp's successor.

Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim is considered the favourite for the role as things stand, with the 39-year old having reportedly already identified a few possible signings. Portuguese outlet Jornal Noticias are reporting that Ruben Amorim has earmarked Sporting Lisbon trio Goncalo Inacio, Ousmane Diomande, and Morten Hjulmand as potential signings should he move to Liverpool this summer.

Inacio and Diomande, aged 22 and 20 respectively, are widely regarded as two of the brightest young defenders in European football. They have both been linked with a number of top sides throughout the continent, with the former having reportedly drawn interest from The Reds earlier this season. As for Hjulmand, he is a midfielder that has already caught the eye for Sporting since joining from Lecce last summer. The 24-year old made his international debut for Denmark in 2023.

While it is unlikely that all three would join Amorim at Liverpool, it would make sense to bring one or two of his current players with him from Sporting should he join the club.

Tee Premier League side are likely to be in the market for a top quality centre back over the coming months, with Joel Matip set to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of June.
