In 2017, the rights to "The Rocky Horror Show" were pulled from the public due to an upcoming tour. Stage Right! was forced to create its own Halloween show to fill the programming gap. The final product, now known as "Night of the Living Musical," came later, but first came a wilder, woolier show still called "Night of the Living Dead."

With a handful of original songs, a few oldies, a couple parodies and a "Thriller" flash mob, the 2017 version of "Night of the Living Dead" blended musical theatre, sketch comedy, bits of burlesque and Seventies spook-shows in a loving tribute to George Romero's public-domain masterpiece and the 50 years of horror it inspired.
