Ayatul ahkaam (verses of law)

In total, there are about 500-550 verses of law in the Qur'an. These verses deal with the pillars of Islam such as: prayer, fasting, zakat and pilgrimage. But also, with financial transactions and family law, warfare and corporal punishment. These verses have been discussed extensively in the general tafseer books, but also in books where the author has devoted himself to the hermeneutics of the verses of the law.

Some verses emphasise the essence of following the verses of the law. I have chosen these and the: Foundations/Principles of law verses. Here are some of them:

1. The importance of returning to the four fundamentals of jurisprudence (Nisa: 59)
2. Submission to the rule precedes the understanding of the wisdom behind it (Nisa: 65)
3. Inner submission to the rules is a sign of true faith
4. Giving a personal preference to something other than the law is a great sin (al Ahzab: 36)
and many other principles.

This last category is also the first category I will explain, because of its importance.
As you can see, this work is unique and of enormous importance. I ask Allah to assist me to bless my time and to protect me and you from the bad in this life, in the grave and the hereafter, amen.
