Hollywood.com reporter Natalie Daniels spoke with Aaron Rahsaan Thomas who is the co-creator and former showrunner of “S.W.A.T,” an action drama television series starring Shemar Moore airing on CBS. The series began in 2017 and is getting ready for its fifth season.

“S.W.A.T.” follows an African American Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson Jr. (Shemar Moore) caught between his loyalty to the Los Angeles community he grew up in and his allegiance to his fellow police officers.

In part 1 of the interview, they talk about Aaron Rahsaan Thomas’s experience working as a Black showrunner with a series focused on the lives of the police.
