This week I have visited Novara in Italy to see how recent events have influenced the quality of life there how things compare with post #brexit Britain. The city appears to be functioning well and there was no sign of poverty or economic hardship. The streets were clean and tidy, there was little or no grafitti, no rough sleepers, no boarded up shops, no pound shops, no charity shops, kebab shops or fast food shops. Novara which is a typical Italian city appeared to be prosperous and functioning normally with plenty of bars, restaurants and other small shops all appearing to be doing well. The #ukgoverment insist that other countries are sharing the economic hardship that the #uk is experiencing. This does not appear to be the case.
Italian towns have preserved small shops which provide a much more consumer friendly environment unlike their UK equivalents which are dominated by major retail chains.
Coffe and food in restaurants appears to be around half the cost of the UK
