Tesla is building its own train connection at the Grünheide plant at Giga Berlin. 10,000 people now work for the electric car manufacturer in Brandenburg. The commuters are gradually overloading the infrastructure around the plant. Tesla can remedy the situation itself.

The situation is now changing dramatically. Because the electric car manufacturer Tesla, which operates its German gigafactory right next door, bought the railway line and is upgrading it to a transport hub, for its own employees.

Tesla is preparing the route for a shuttle service, including a purpose-built stop. The reason: the infrastructure is gradually at the limit. 10,000 people now work for Tesla Giga Berlin in Grünheide. According to the ministry, almost 40 percent of them come with one of the bus shuttles – or by train. The latest satellite images from LiveEO now show that traveling by train will soon be less of a hassle.

The nearest public train station Fangschleuse will be relocated with state funds in favor of Tesla employees. However, it will not be completed until 2026 and the US group does not want to wait that long. So he takes the construction of the infrastructure into his own hands.

North of Tesla Giga Berlin the railway line runs from Berlin to the Fangschleuse station. But at the height of the Tesla site, a branch has been leading south for many years. The actual destination and the terminus: the goods traffic center. The tracks run east of the plant, but Tesla is now expanding the track layout again. The company has a new switch built for this so that shuttle trains can stop directly at the factory entrance, as reported by the "Märkische Oderzeitung", citing the operating concept . The stopping point is called Tesla South.
