Let's talk lug nuts! I'll show you what I bought and why... and show you the difference between the McGard and Gorilla splinedrive lug nuts. I also talk about what you need to know to buy aftermarket lug nuts for a Jeep Wrangler.

I found this when searching the McGard... and found it interesting. That piece at the cone is actually a brass washer and it's designed to allow you to tighten things without damaging the rim.

"No one mentioned that they have a built -on tapered washer that actually spins freely until it contacts the rim. At that point it will stop spinning and you torque the lug against the washer INSTEAD of it torqueing and grinding into your rims(after removing to rotate the wheels with regular lugs enough times it will start to grind into the lug well in most cases) .
