This Chinese electronic groupset died after 2 weeks. The front derailleur appears to be broken, but can I fix it?

The L-TWOO eRX groupset is the first electronic road bike groupset to come from a Chinese manufacturer, and had SO much promise. It is much cheaper than the competition from Shimano and SRAM (Di2 & eTap), looks fantastic, and when it works, performs superbly.

However, after around 2 weeks, the front derailleur on my eRX groupset completely stopped working. I unplugged it overnight to remedy another issue I was facing with my bike frame, and upon plugging it back in, it had completely died. The rear derailleur is still functioning perfectly, but for some reason the front just doesn’t want to shift. I have tried everything I can think of to get it working again, but nothing has helped.

So I got hold of another complete eRX groupset, and via a process of elimination, I am going to figure out exactly what the problem is. In this episode, I will do a little investigation, completely disassemble the rear derailleur, and try to get my bike back on the road.
