CARE Panel: Inclusive Research Practices and Considering Research Mistrust

 Published On Feb 13, 2024

This panel will discuss equitable representation in recruitment and enrollment for research as well as consider mistrust in research. Historically marginalized communities have often experienced the negative effects of research while enjoying few of its benefits, leading to mistrust. How can researchers design and implement studies that avoid this result? How can we best understand research mistrust and what are solutions for addressing it? What does inclusive research look like? Join us for a panel discussion of these and other questions surrounding the ethics of inclusive research and mistrust.

Featuring Panelists:
Amelia Knopf, PhD, MPH, RN (Associate Professor of Community and Health Systems, Indiana University School of Nursing)

Deena Chisolm, PhD (Director of the Center for Child Health Equity and Outcomes Research at the Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital, Vice President of Health Services Research in the Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital, and Professor of Pediatrics, OSU).
