The X-men have battled many villains, mutants, and humans alike. One of the weirder ones happens to be the dangerous and powerful sorceress Spiral. Spiral was Mojo’s prime enforcer and a six-armed cyborg. She began her life as Ricochet Rita, an ally of Longshot, but was kidnapped and stranded on Mojoverse, where she was brainwashed to become Mojo’s puppet. Spiral first appeared in Ann Nocenti’s Longshot #1 (June 1985). Spiral’s six arms happen to be inspired by deities from the Hindu Mythology, based on Hinduism, one of the world’s oldest religions. Countless Hindu gods are portrayed with 6 arms. Many characters in Hindu mythology have multiple roles and identities, just like Spiral. So how did Spiral become an enemy of the X-men?
