Formula One might be a non contact sport, the driver’s might be surrounded by the most cutting edge safety technology, and driving some of the most advanced cars in the world, but they take an absolute beating while doing it. Driving at over 200 mph and getting slammed sideways by 4 to 6 Gs of force every time they take a turn. Under braking, 5Gs of force try to rip them out of their seats. All of this takes a toll on the body but they are forces that drivers train to deal with. What they can’t train for is the spine braking impacts of the car as it is smashed from underneath by the uneven track surfaces and now, they are demanding change. Today I’m going to check out the recent driver demands to the FIA for changes to the cars and why we need them, so don’t go anywhere.
