Agustín Rayo, Kenan Sahin Dean of the MIT School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences and professor of philosophy, questions how new digital technologies such as artificial intelligence can be deployed in a way so that equity, democracy, and human health are helped rather than hindered to create a better world for all. In this session held during MIT’s Better World Weekend on May 14, 2022, panelists consider the unintended consequences of deploying these technologies in areas such as machine learning in health care, computing, communications, and election integrity.
