Young Raya wanted to explore the areas outside of the Heart City. Chief Benja was worried about encountering Druuns so he never took her outside. But he decided maybe it's time Young Raya sees what it is like outside of the Heart City. They learn about the Palm Tree farmers who were worried that the next generation will not stay and farm. They also learn about the people of Heart who are leaving Heart in search of something better elsewhere. Raya catches fishes from the river and learns to cook them herself. She learns about a new dam being built in Spine. She watches the night sky for the first time and learns to read stars. She learns about the fire flies and how they keep Druuns away. On her way back home, her camping site becomes foggy. She learns about the ways of the Dragon Guardian and how to stay hopeful even when she gets lost.

Raya, Sisu, Ben and Mal cannot open the old temple gate, so they decide to head back to Heart. Sisu senses that maybe they should take the other road than the one that they took before. Along the way, Raya remembers her first camping trip. She discovers that the Palm trees farm no longer exists. The roads no longer exist like no one had used them for a while. Everyone who needed to use that road no longer exists. The river is too dirty for fishes to exist. Raya finds out that despite all the changes, the stars are still in the same location. Fireflies are still lighting up and cicadas are still buzzing as loud as ever.

CJ Hook is trying to figure out where her ship is. How is it that she shows up in Talon but not her ship? CJ learns about the Druuns. Somebody is willing to pay a lot of credit for catching a Druun. Everybody thinks CJ is crazy. Druuns cannot be caught. CJ goes over the Talon wall in search of Druuns.
