In this video, my son and I showcase how we built a 14x8 foot floating deck in just 4.5 hours, spread across two days due to weather conditions. The best part? No digging or city permits required! When I received a quote of $4800 for this project, I was adamant that there had to be a cheaper, more hands-on solution. And guess what? We did it!
Though my main hobby is tending to my beloved grass, sometimes you need to switch gears. I needed a deck that my family could comfortably use and this project was the answer to that need.

In this video, I walk you through each step of the process, pointing out what I did right, as well as what I did wrong. My hope is that you can learn from my mistakes and that your deck-building experience is a breeze.
