This is the only way to apply bondo to a primer surface of any kind. You have to prep it right using a very coarse grit sand paper so the bondo or body filler such as polyester finish putty will adhere and stick to the damaged area. Once the bondo is dried you can continue to hand sand using blocks of your choice and repeating your process till the dent is fixed for good.
