I review a Ford F150 with the 2.7L EcoBoost V6 twin turbo charged engine to see how good the Fuel economy (MPG) really is. I test City fuel economy, Highway fuel mileage and country to see if this 2.7L ecoboost can hit the rated 21mpg combined fuel economy rating from Ford.

I hope everyone is having a good holiday break so far. we are continuing on with our f150 2.7L EcoBoost mini series and today we are testing fuel economy.

I always hear how a pick up trucks fuel economy should not matter but in reality I think alot of people are highly focused on fuel economy these days and getting a more fuel efficient pick up truck seems to be important.

this 2.7L Ecoboost engine will be more efficient simply because of the displacement being so small. Another nice reason why this engine will be more efficient is because of the off-set connecting rods which give this engine a much better mechanical advantage of putting power down to the crankshaft.

off set connecting rods are simply more efficient and will need less fuel to create the same mechanic energy which should save fuel.

we saw this engine being incredibly efficient in the city and on country roads which is was expected. but as we got on highway this engine started to suck back more fuel

when at highway speeds like I predicted. this engine has to rely more on its turbos to push air into the engine to create enough power to maintain speeds going up hills. when more air is pushed into the engine more fuel is needed which caused the fuel economy to drop on the highway.

this ecoboost engine got a true fuel economoy of 22 mpg which certainly is very impressive. ford is not joking about this engine being fuel efficient.

hope you guys like the video !
