As SpaceX continues to fly both six-month crew rotation missions for NASA and private astronaut missions for Axiom Space, it's also working towards its next free-flying mission: Polaris Dawn.

This is the first of three planned, commercial astronaut missions for the Polaris Program, an initiative spearheaded by entrepreneur and Inspiration4 Commander, Jared Isaacman. He along with Pilot Scott "Kidd" Poteet, Mission Specialist Sarah Gillis and Mission Specialist/Medical Officer Anna Menon will conduct the first non-governmental spacewalk, exiting from a Crew Dragon spacecraft during a roughly 5-day mission.

Isaacman and Poteet recently spoke with Spaceflight Now's Will Robinson-Smith about the progress towards their mission and the state of the spacesuit development.
