Princess Latifa is not the first princess to attempt to escape from Dubai.

Her sister, Princess Shamsa first attempted to leave in 2000. Former wife of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Princess Haya of Jordan is the latest to flee Dubai, as another former wife, Sheikha Randa, already had done.
